While other schools offer Co-Op and internship programs, Lakeland is the only school in the Midwest offering students, no matter their major, an opportunity to earn a full year of academic credit for their work experience — allowing students to earn valuable professional experience and control the cost of college!
Lakeland also offers access to online courses for students who need more flexibility due to a full schedule with work and co-curricular. Lakeland gives students access to 40+ clubs/organizations and 20+ NCAA athletic teams.

Admission requirements
At least 20 academic units of study in high school. Strongly recommended: 4 years of English, 3+ years of mathematics, 3+ years of science, 2+ years of a world language, and other college prep academic units. ACT and SAT scores are optional for admission and financial aid
consideration.
How AP/IB credits are handled
The AP exam scores of 3 or better will be accepted for credit. Scores of 4 or better on all higher-level IB exams will be accepted for credit.
Lakeland has several undergraduate options, including Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science, with our most popular majors being Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Sports Management & Leadership, Psychology, Accounting, Biology, Computer Science, and Education. LU also offers several graduate degrees, including a Master of Arts in Counseling, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Education, and a Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development.
